At Southern Cross Automotive Repairs, we specialise in managing all your pink slip (now called eSafety Check), blue slip, and vehicle inspection requirements. In NSW, driving an unregistered vehicle can result in significant fines and even immediate seizure of your car, so it’s essential to stay on top of your vehicle registration checks.

For vehicles over five years old, a safety inspection is mandatory for registration renewal. As an authorised vehicle inspection station, we conduct thorough annual car inspections to ensure that your vehicle’s tyres, brakes, lights, and other key components are in optimal condition. Once the inspection is complete, we’ll provide you with an eSafety Check, which we directly send to Roads & Maritime Services (RMS) on your behalf.

A blue slip is required if your vehicle is unregistered or if it has been written off and needs to be re-registered. It’s a comprehensive inspection to ensure your vehicle complies with NSW road safety standards and environmental emissions regulations.

You will need a blue slip in the following cases:

• Interstate transfers – if you’ve moved to NSW and need to register an out-of-state vehicle.
• Vehicles that have run out of registration – for cars that haven’t been registered for a while and need to be checked before they can be legally driven.
• Vehicles that have been imported – if you’ve imported a vehicle from overseas and need it inspected for compliance with Australian standards.
